This morning I read the book of Jude.  It is a book that I have only read a time or two and I am not sure why.  It may be because it is such a short book having only one chapter.  As I read Jude it spoke to me very clearly as the warning that it is.  One phase in particular stood out among the rest, "...some godless people have wormed their way in among you, saying that God's forgiveness allows us to live immoral lives."

This is the exact thing that we are seeing today as people pervert and twist the teachings of the Bible.  People commit adultery believing that it is okay because God's wants them to be happy so His love forgives them.  The same thinking and belief lies in the minds of those "Christians" living a homosexual lifestyle.

GOD makes it very clear throughout His teachings that these are very wrong and repeatedly says that these choices will keep one from passing through the gates of heaven.

Jude warns us of the false teachers that will be teaching these lies and deceiving the masses.  The pulpits of churches throughout the world are full of false teachers.  If people that hear these teachings don't pick up their Bibles and compare God's Word to what they have just heard they will be led astray, like sheep to the slaughter.

Jude also reminds us of the fate of those who turned away from God.  God rescued the people of Israel from Egypt and yet those who turned away from Him, God destroyed.

Then there was Sodom and Gomorrah..."And don't forget the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns, which were filled with sexual immorality and every kind of sexual perversion.  Those cities were destroyed by fire and are a warning of the eternal fire that will punish all who are evil." Jude 1:7

In summary I urge you to be weary and discerning in what you hear or are taught.  Yes we have a very loving, and very forgiving GOD.  He loves you and me so much that He sent His son Jesus Christ to die the most horrible death imaginable to cover our sins.  Do not let yourself be deceived into believing that God's love and forgiveness is a free ride ticket to commit sin.  Remember what Jesus told the adulertous woman that was about to be stoned for her crime.  Jesus forgave her and then simply said, "Go and sin no more."
