Don't Give Up The Fight

They are busy in our smallest towns, and our largest metropolises.  They are busy in our states, and nations around the world.  They are well organized, doing everything that they can to convince our leaders, as well as our judges, and politicians, at all levels that what they fight for is just and right.  They are well organized and strong in their fight.

They are aggressive in their efforts.  They are both young and old.  They are not always well educated, yet many are very educated.  They are extremely adamant in their efforts to change our hearts and minds to believe that what they fight for is just and right.  They are well organized and strong in their fight.

They have made it nearly a crime for our students to pray in our schools.  They have removed symbols of Christianity from our governmental buildings.  They have been effective in changing our laws of morality to become laws of immorality.  They are well organized and strong in their fight.

Who are these that are so well organized and so strong in their fight?  They are the Pro-Choice advocates that have effectively changed the hearts of our politicians so as to make it legal to murder the unborn.  They have been so strong in their fight that now the law allows for what is called near birth abortion, which allows killing a newborn baby as it emerges from the mother's womb.

Who are these that are so well organized and so strong in their fight?  They are the gay and lesbian organizations that have effectively changed the hearts of the Supreme Court judges so as to mandate that the Boy Scouts of America must allow a person whom claims to be gay into the scouting organization.

The atrocities and abominations against God's word goes on and on.  The purpose behind this article is not so much to slam these organizations.  Heck, they have organized themselves, they have fought a valiant fight, and they are winning.  The purpose of this article is to ask the question, Why can't, or don't, we as Christians organize ourselves, get out and fight a good fight, and come out victors?  Is it because we are afraid to come out of the closet to let the world know that we are Christians, and then stand up for what God teaches?  Is it because we are few in numbers?  Is it because we are content in just sitting back and allowing the forces of evil to slowly destroy everything that is good and right?  I will say this, and I may make some people mad as I say it, but frankly I am seeing too many lazy Christians.  In all of this laziness we are idly sitting by and watching as Satan's army destroys.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that if we get up, organize, plan, and fight, that we as God's army of Christians, will be victors in these battles.  Yes I know that Jesus defeated Satan 2000 years ago, and that the battle is won, but the battle continues to be fought today, and although Satan is defeated in the end, he is still destroying everything he can in the process.  “With God's help we will do mighty things, for He will trample down our foes.” (Psalms 60:12)

A couple of weeks ago I watched a very informative, and interesting program on TBN, the Trinity Broadcast Network.  There was a panel of Christian attorneys discussing very important court cases, and decisions concerning the rights of Christians.  In fact, the motivation for this article came from my watching that program.  To me it is extremely aggravating the way that the laws of morality are being constantly changed, and according to this panel of attorneys, if Christians would become more active in the fights against these changing laws, fewer of these laws would pass.

Recently in preparation for this years Jesus Day 2000 activities, our local Jesus Day 2000 committee asked for permission from our school district to use a covered basketball court as a place of meeting following the Jesus march.  We wanted to congregate at the basketball court for singing, praise, and worship.  The school superintendent denied us the use of the schools property.  Upon denial of the use of the facility I went to the websites of the American Center for Law and Justice, and The Rutherford Institute.  After spending some time there reviewing legal cases, I found a Supreme Court case decision that was similar to the battle we were fighting.  I printed the decision, and our committee submitted another request for use of the covered basketball court.  This time when we submitted the request, we attached a copy of the Supreme Court decision.  We were given the permission we sought.

“Remember that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize.  You must run in such a way that you will win.” (1 Corinthians 9:24) Each and every day we are faced with a Goliath to battle.  With each Goliath we face, we are given the Holy Spirit power to overcome and defeat.  After all, if God is with us, then who can be against us.  We must remain faithful, and stay focused.  As Christians we must not give up the fight.  “For every child of God defeats this evil world by trusting Christ to give the victory.” (1 John 5:4)

Two websites that are a great source of legal reference of Christian's rights are The American Center for Law and Justice, www.aclj.org, and The Rutherford Institute, www.rutherford.org.
