My Blogs

There have been many times when a thought or a message came to mind.  Times when God gently spoke to me about things on my mind or maybe things that I was going through.  Here are some blog postings written rather spontaneously with no continuity of message or of sequenced date, just some spontaneous thoughts on various subjects.

I was sitting around this morning in my lab/office/home on the drilling rig in NW Louisiana thinking about my life, my kids and my choices, their choices.  Choices are so incredible in the way that they shape the future of our lives.  Good choices or bad choices it really doesn't matter because each have equal influence on our lives.  The influence no doubt lead in different direction but they are equal.

I have never been a big reader of poetry but I reme...

Well it has been just over a year since my last blog.  I had hidden my Blog page in this website, and earlier today I decided to re-activate my Blog and make it visible to the public eye.

So much has happened since my last blog.  In August last year I was blessed with another granddaughter, Jazlyn Rai Ridenour, thanks to my son Steven, Jr. and his (ex)girlfriend.   I can't believe that God gave us 3 granddaughters last summer.  Note to my sons....we ...

Last Saturday, June 13, 2009, at 2:25pm I was blessed with yet one more beautiful granddaughter.  Little Laiylah Nevaeh Ridenour was born to my youngest daughter Stephany weighing in at a whopping 6lb. 11oz., 19.75" long.  As you can see in the pic she is an angel.

So far this year I have been blessed with two new grandbabies.  Little Hazel Noel Ridenour was born on May 22nd and now Laiylah on June!  Next is another grandaughter due to be born ...

Yesterday afternoon at 12:40 thanks to Lisa (my future daughter-in-law) and my son Kevin, I became a proud grandfather once again.  Yesterday Hazel Noel Ridenour came into this world.  With brown hair and blue eyes she looks like a little angel.  Congratulations you did a great job.

Lord, I ask that You would fulfill Your promise, "that if I believed inYou, I would be saved, and my whole household." Lord, I thank You that You have plans...

Wow I didn't realize that it has been 9 days since my last blog.  I guess there must not be very much going on in my life to blog about.

Let me think what has happened in my life in the last 9 days that I can mention here.  Hmmm...this is a rough one.  Every day I wake up and do some job searching and every day it's the same old stuff...not hiring.  Not hiring...duh!  The freaking economy is a mess.  People are still being laid off by the thousa...

Good intentions

Why is it that the older that I get the faster that time seems to pass by?  It is only an illusion because we all know that time doesn't really speed up as we get older.  So what the heck is up?  If you have a good explanation feel free to share it.

Mother's Day was yesterday and I had a nice day planned with Mom (my wife), the kids, and myself.  I got up early and bought Mom some more roses, yeah more!  I bought her a dozen just a few days ago. ...

Happy days

Well I made my trip to San Antonio and back.  It was such a blessing to see Bobby and Amy, and Kevin and Lisa.  My boys have grown so much...I am realizing my age!  While there I started thinking about how each of my children are so different, and then again they are so much alike.

That's the way God's children different, but yet so much alike.  The sweet thing is that in the way I love each of my kids for the way they are independently God loves...

Things change

I am getting ready to take a bike ride to San Antonio to visit my 3 oldest kids.  They have grown up and all have families of their own now.  It will be a very cool blessing to spend time with them.

God has been good to me.  I could sit here and cry about difficult times, but I am so blessed even during these slow times.  My family is all healthy.  We have a roof over our head.  We have food to eat.  We have money in the bank.  We have...

Well here I sit at the end of week 9 with no work.  Come on oil field!

One thing that this economic slowdown has showed me is that I am definitely not ready for retirement.  I am so bored.  Admittedly if I had a huge bankrole then retirement would be easier to take, but I could only travel or spend so much.

Another thing that I have learned is that we as a family can live on less than what we were used to spending.  Budget cuts have been...

New beginning

Well here I go again in search of a place to blog.  (Sounds like some kind of dance!)  My wife asked my why I would want to "blog" my thoughts for the whole world to see.  I thought about it for a bit and came up with a good answer, "I don't know."

So here I am blogging away.  I have another blog site that I started when all of this Swine Flu scare started and my overall attitude about it was blah, blah, blah......
